JAMES L. FREDERICK A litigator within the Courts of the State of California for 22 years and for the Pest Control Industry for 18 years. Mr. Frederick completed his undergraduate work at Bowling Green State University, Ohio and received a BA degree with a major in Sociology and minors in Psychology, Biology and English. He is a graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law, Member of the California State Bar, Los Angeles County Bar Association, San Diego County Bar Association, American Bar Association, Pest Control Operators of California , and The National Pest Management Association. He is the Director of North County Mediation Services Inc.
As a litigator, Mr. Frederick has extensive experience handling pest control cases since1992 including operator's liability, toxic exposure, fumigation, and errors and omissions including poria incrassata and mold. He also has experience in tree destruction, small business advisement, employment law, automobile accident investigation, personal injury, worker's compensation subrogation, construction defects, insurance bad faith, and uninsured/underinsured motorist. He defends Pest control licensees before the Structural Pest Control Board. He is a member of the Arbitration Panel for San Diego County Superior Court, a member of Los Angeles County Labor and Employment law section and the ABA sections on Business and Torts. He is an experienced mediator and arbitrator. He is admitted to practice in the State and the Federal District Courts in California.
Mr. Frederick has given Pest Control Seminars in Branches 1, 2, and 3, bedbugs (Cimex lectularius Linnaeus), lead paint, poria incrassata, and mold to pest control companies, in PCOC District Meetings and at State Conventions. He is the attorney of choice of many Pest Control Operators. He reviews and prepares reports, disclaimers, service contracts, and employment policies for his Pest Control clients and advises them of changes in the law and pest control liabilities on a regular basis. He advises and guides clients in business practices and employment law. He works closely with Pest Control Operators and their insurance carriers in loss prevention, loss control and loss ratio management.
